Feb 23 & March 2| 6-7 p.m.
Last day to register: Feb. 22
Attention teens who are deaf or hard of hearing and their parents! Wondering about getting a job after high school? Spend an hour with us! You’ll learn about resources Iowa has to help you transition to employment. Iowa Vocational Rehabilitation, Central Rivers Area Education Agency Workplace Education Transition and Iowa School for the Deaf’s 4PUS transition staff all will provide pointers on what parents and teens need to do NOW to prepare for life in the workplace. One session for parents: Feb. 23; one session for teens: March 2. Both held 6-7 p.m. via Zoom.
Topics for parents: What are your child’s work goals? What do they need to get there? What are your Iowa resources? Why is 14 the ‘golden age’? Questions and answer time, too.
Interactive teen discussion: Why you need a driver’s license, what do do NOW to help you later, and how to find help after high school.
