Explore ASL

It’s the annual celebration of American Sign Language (ASL) where students experience a day of ASL discovery and learning. Get registered for a day of educational and fun events for families and educators. A Deaflympic medalist and deaf athletes will be featured. No cost.

Easter Fa’afiti
- Keynote speaker: Easter Fa’afiti grew up deaf attending mainstream schools, relying on lip-reading, speech and hearing aids to succeed on hearing teams. At Gallaudet University, she embraced ASL and the Deaf community. Her story of resilience and pride will inspire you. Easter is a 3-time gold medalist in women’s basketball, a 2-time conference player of the year and a Gallaudet University Hall of Fame inductee.

- Learn signs from different countries and international signs
Events are in ASL. Interpretation from ASL into English will be available.
Registration is required and includes lunch, snacks and Kids Camp for ages 5-12. The deadline to register is Oct. 24.
